Background of the Study
In Michika LGA, road taxes are an important source of revenue for the local government, aimed at maintaining and improving the region's road infrastructure. Public trust in the utilization of road tax funds plays a significant role in the willingness of individuals to comply with tax policies. This study seeks to explore the public perception of road tax utilization in Michika LGA, examining the transparency, accountability, and effectiveness of road tax expenditure.
Statement of the Problem
Despite the significant funds generated through road taxes, there is a lack of comprehensive understanding regarding how the public perceives the management and utilization of these funds in Michika LGA. Mismanagement or perceived inefficiency in using road tax revenues could lead to lower compliance and public dissatisfaction. This study aims to address this knowledge gap by assessing public views on road tax usage and its impact on road infrastructure development.

Research Hypothesis
H₀: The public perception of road tax utilization in Michika LGA is not significantly positive.
H₀: There is no significant relationship between road tax utilization and improvements in local road infrastructure.
H₀: Measures to improve transparency in road tax utilization will not significantly improve public perception in Michika LGA.
