Background of the Study

In Michika LGA, road taxes are an important source of revenue for the local government, aimed at maintaining and improving the region's road infrastructure. However, the public’s perception of how well the collected taxes are used for road maintenance and development remains largely unexamined. Public trust in the utilization of road tax funds plays a significant role in the willingness of individuals to comply with tax policies. This study seeks to explore the public perception of road tax utilization in Michika LGA, examining the transparency, accountability, and effectiveness of road tax expenditure.
